PRIMARY SCHOOL INCLUSION

Welcome to Primary School Inclusion

At ANS Primary School, we are guided by the conviction that all children deserve to learn in an environment that recognizes and respects their individuality. Our mission-driven approach to education is rooted in the belief that every child, irrespective of their learning needs, has the right to be both challenged and cherished for who they are.

  • Inclusion Services: Our Inclusion Program caters to students with mild to moderate learning needs, providing the necessary support either within the regular classroom or through specialized small group instruction. This approach ensures that all students have access to personalized learning experiences that foster their academic and personal growth.
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Key to our Inclusion Program is the utilization of data to inform instruction and intervention. Through our Data Wall Meetings, teachers collaboratively assess student progress, identifying specific areas where additional support is needed. This process is integral to our Team Time for Teachers (TTT), where educators prioritize and plan for effective inclusion strategies.
  • Inclusion Support Meetings: To ensure that each child’s learning journey is closely monitored, we hold regular Inclusion Support Meetings. These sessions provide an opportunity to review progress, discuss evaluations, and refine individualized plans as needed. Parents and teachers are encouraged to be proactive in advocating for support, reinforcing our commitment to a collaborative, responsive educational environment.
  • STAR Classroom: A cornerstone of our inclusion efforts is the STAR Program (Students Transitioning to Academic Readiness), specially designed for students on the autism spectrum. Recognizing the unique learning profiles of these students, we integrate specialized instruction within their day to enhance their ability to engage and learn effectively alongside their peers. The STAR Classroom offers a supportive setting that addresses sensory and social needs, facilitating growth in crucial areas such as communication, social interaction, literacy, and numeracy.

At ANS Primary School, inclusion is more than a program—it’s a commitment to nurturing an inclusive, supportive community that values every student’s potential. By embracing diverse learning needs and fostering a culture of respect and understanding, we empower all students to achieve their best.
