On this Tuesday March 20, at 7:55 a.m. there was a school shooting at the Great Mills High School in Maryland. The person responsible for this incident was Austin W. Rollins, a 17-year-old male student. Rollins shot two students, one male and one female with a hand gun in one of the hallways of the Great Mills High School.
The 14-year-old male student is in stable condition, meanwhile the 16-year-old female student is in critical condition.
The school’s resource officer acted immediately and shot and killed the shooter. According to CNN, the shooter was dead after he was shot by the officer.
The whole school was in lock down for a brief time and then evacuated students to their homes.
Last week students from the Stoneman Douglas High School and Great Mills High School walked out in a protest against school violence.
After noticing this incident at Great Mills High School, some students from the Stoneman Douglas High school Tweeted about the importance of ending gun violence in schools. This is the 17th schooling in the US this year since January 1st.
