ANS Students Celebrate Chinese New Year

ANS celebrated the Chinese New Year with a performance put on by elementary and secondary Chinese students alike, organized by Chinese teacher Ms. Carolina Yun. There were several special guests present in the celebration, including the Ambassador of Taiwan to Nicaragua Mr. Jaime Wu, and important officials from the embassy.
During the show, the Ambassador explained to ANS students the state of relations between Nicaragua and Taiwan, as well as his country’s position on the world stage. He also granted diplomas to students who passed the TOCFL examination last November, who demonstrated their Chinese comprehension ability.
Chinese students did several traditional Chinese performances. The dragon dance, parasol dance, lion dance, and taichi were all masterfully done. In addition, the Embassy brought its own performers, and practiced calligraphy and martial arts.
