La La Land is a 2016 American romantic and musical film, written and directed by Damien Chazelle. The film is a modern version of Hollywood musicals. It is about the relationship that arises between a jazz pianist and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles, California.
A couple starts a relationship, but both have their own dreams to fulfill. He is a jazz pianist who dreams of opening his own club and she is an aspiring actress who dreams of being famous. In the course of this relationship, he accepts a steady job to offer something to her, but he doesn’t enjoy doing it. She tries to make him see that he wants him to be happy, but he claims that he has done all this for her.
Both continue to fight for their dreams and confess their love, but they are not sure about their future. In the end, they achieve success, but each one on their own. Later, they meet by chance, but each has already made their life and they only can imagine how it would have been if they had continued together.
The film is really famous and has won the seven categories to which it was nominated in the Golden Globes where it is becoming the most awarded film of the history of the Golden Globes. In addition, the film has been nominated for 14 Oscars, becoming the film with more Oscar nominations along with Titanic and All About Eve.
