The Truth About Senior Year

I’ll tell you what it feels like. As you come to the month when universities tell you whether or not you’re in, you start to question yourself. You question your abilities and whether you’re good enough for the university.

Trust me, since the beginning of 12th grade I have never felt so insecure in my life. And it doesn’t get better as you get your first rejection letter. This is where they say you’re not good enough for them. You proved that you aren’t as good on paper as you thought you were.

But don’t panic it’s normal.

Obviously we can’t get into all the universities we applied too. It just wasn’t meant to be.

When I got my first acceptance letter, I felt happy and I believed in myself. It was meant to be.
So my advice is, don’t get stressed because you didn’t get into the university you wanted, or because you haven’t heard yet.

By the end of your senior year you will realize how unimportant that university you once wanted was, and how happy you are for the one that chose you.

Don’t rush things only because you are desperate about your future. Good things will take time. I have been rejected to the universities I thought were easy, and have been accepted to where I thought I wouldn’t have been accepted. So please, have some faith and believe in yourself.

Sometimes we are insecure and think we deserve the least, but in time you will realize how lucky you are to be given that spot. Believe it from a senior who was once insecure and scared of what the future awaits.

I never thought I would be this happy for the universities that I once questioned and now where I will call home.

Be confident on who you are, because at the end of the day, you will be happy where you end up going!richardson
