Silvio Sirias at ANS

Last week, an incredible writer, Silvio Sirias, came to ANS to talk to students from 8th, 9th and 11th grades. Silvio talked about his experience and life and it was an amazing opportunity for students to hear his stories, advice, and learn new things about life and writing.

Silvio Sirias is visiting Nicaragua the is one of the featured writers in Centroamerica Cuenta 2017. Centroamerica Cuenta

I really loved all the things he said, but what I liked the most was that he talked about the Joseph Campbell quote “follow your bliss”. What he means about following your bliss is that you should follow what you love and like. Don’t let anyone tell you can’t do it. For example, Silvio’s parents told him that he shouldn’t be a writer because he was going to “starve”. Silvio followed his dream, and he was successful.

Some of the books he has written are The Season of Stories, The Saint of Santa Fe, Bernardo and the Virgin, and more.

I hope Silvio Sirias will come visit us again!
