Abandoned Children in Nicaragua
This club’s objective is to provide stability for the Abandoned Children in Nicaragua Foundation and support the foundation financially and through visits to see the children.
APROQUEN
Turning Tears into a smiles – We are part of a bigger organization in Nicaragua, (Asociacion Pro Niños Quemados) that provides integral and specialized attention, entirely free of charge, to Nicaraguan children with severe burns, ‘secuelas’ and congenital (or acquired) malformations.
Asociacion San Francisco de Asis
The San Francisco Association of Assisi, is an independent nonprofit that operates in Nicaragua since 1993. Its purpose is to provide a fair opportunity to make life better for the poor and needy in the country.
Dance Club and Team
The ANS Dance Team was started last year with much enthusiasm and a multitude of dancers of all levels and grades and this year continues to thrive!! Dancer enthusiasts and performers are welcome to join either as a club member, where we meet bi-monthly to catch up on the latest events in dance in the community and create ways to add dance to school events and fundraisers or as a part of the Dance Team which meets after school and performs at school events. All are welcome and encouraged to participate!
Digital Yearbook
Architects of your memories – The yearbook staff is responsible for creating memories and engineering the format of how we portray your image. Each individual page, letter, and photo is edited by one of their dedicated members to create a long lasting impression in your memories and in your hearts.
Drama Club
The ANS Drama Club brings together students with a passion and respect for the theatre and the performing arts. We strive to maintain a supportive and positive environment that provides a creative outlet for exploring our art through performance and travel. Our work serves to enlighten those within our school and community, fostering an appreciation for all forms of the performing arts. Our goal is simply to inspire and nurture the theatrical spirit. One student… one production at a time.
E4C
E4C is a club that provides children who suffer from cancer with once a month entertaining activity in a way to raise their hopes and spirits. Members visit the Hospital La Mascota’s cancer area to entertain the children with games, piñatas, food, drinks, and donations depending on their necessities.
Electric Band
The Electric Band is a student band that plays popular (rock) music, rehearsing once a week after school and performing at school events. Students learn teamwork, dedication and high standards for work through the experience of rehearsing songs together, and experience the unique thrill of performing in front of a large audience. Previous clubs have performed at Galerias shopping center.
Green Project
Transforming Helpers into Heroes – Green project is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness through the ANS community and Nicaragua. Members organize various events to support recycling and reduce our carbon footprint on planet Earth. The clubs objectives are to improve the environmental / ecological consciousness of the school population through education, activities, participation and by example.
HACIA Democracy
HACIA Democracy is a model Organization of American States (OAS) sponsored by Harvard University whose primary goal is to provide students with an opportunity to discuss and practice democracy through different forums. It is an educational organization providing an opportunity to learn more about the Western Hemisphere, as well as cooperation, consensus, and compromise through debate.
Habitat for Humanity
“Require adequate shelter for all. Be an active member in the community and build it with our own hands. Move a step forward and join the movement. Be an inspiration and a promoter. Demonstrate, defend, educate, build, renovate, improve, fight, engage, transform, and ally to address the urgent issue of housing in the world. We will make the world a home.” (Habitat for Humanity)
Knowledge Bowl
An exciting club designed to put together a team and present a good showing in the annual AASCA Knowledge Bowl tournament and to provide some fun and simulation to the academically gifted.
Model United Nations
Model United Nations (MUN) consists of debates and argumentations between delegates of different nations and their ideas regarding current worldwide events or historic events. It is meant to come to agreements on possible solutions regarding the issues.
National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
These organizations made up of specially nominated and selected students; provide service to the school and outside community. These clubs provide recognition to ANS students showing exemplary scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Operation Smile
Changing Lives One Smile at a Time – Throughout the world, Operation Smile volunteers to repair childhood facial deformities while building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare systems for children and families. Together, we create smiles, heal and change lives. The objectives of the club are to raise funds for cleft lip and palate operations and to provide assistance to doctors and families during the operations.
Pep Squad
Go Tigers! – The Pep Squad is the foundation for the school’s energy, enthusiasm, and ardor. It is the first group in the history of ANS to be completely devoted to the school’s spirit and unity. As part of the student council we promote attendance at ANS athletic events.
Pink Club
The goal of the Pink Club is to raise awareness and help fight breast cancer. In a period of 5 years we will adopt a mother. We will give her a certain amount of money each year so that by the end they will have the necessary amount of money to fight her cancer.
United Hands
United, We Achieve More – United Hands is a community service group that focuses on helping a small public school called Lumen Cristi. Members visit the school regularly on Saturdays and provide an hour of English classes, lunch, and games for the students. Throughout the year, members participate in numerous fund raising activities to help meet the needs of the school.
