Dear Parents,                                                   May 1, 2013

Happy May!

Our third graders have finished taking their MAP tests. We will share the results soon.

Our fourth and fifth graders will continue to take theirs throughout this and next week.

Each grade level will plan and organize Mother’s Day activities separately in their own classrooms instead of holding a school wide show in the CAA. Your child’s teacher will send more detailed information as the day approaches.

Save May 17 for the last Parent School of the year. Susan and I will be presenting the End of the Year Review session.

If you are interested, sign up for Summer School by registering and paying at the Cashier’s Office.

Enjoy tomorrow’s holiday!! Take care!

Estimados Padres de Familia,

Feliz Mayo!

Tenga cuidado!

Dear Parents,                                          April 16th, 2013

Thank you for your support for our volleyball teams! Our boys won the bronze medal and the girls came in 6th place. Go Tigers!
Please talk to your children about Earth Day and the importance of keeping our Earth healthy. As a family, maybe you can do a project together at home. (turning off the water during brushing teeth, turning off lights, planting, picking trash, etc.) That would be wonderful!
The Pink Club will hold a Bingo Night this Friday from 5:50 to 8 in the CAA. Come out and support the club who helps women with cancer.
Remember this Thursday is the Art Gala Night from 5:00 to 6:30. Your children’s art work will be displayed like in a museum! Come and support your child’s learning.
A prompt pick up is a must on this Wednesday at 11, which is an early dismissal day.
Our second graders will be going on a field trip this Friday to Mombacho.

Click the link below: Many of our teachers who have seen this in the States are recommending it highly. Take your kids for a great family activity!

Dear Parents,                               April 11, 2013

It’s been a week filled with the anticipation of the AASCA Volleyball tournament at our school. The girls’ team just finished their first match and WON! GO TIGERS!

We would like to remind you that the Art Gala Night will be on Thursday, April 18th from 5-6:30. Come and enjoy your child’s artworks, which will be displayed throughout the ES hallways. A flyer will be sent home next week.

Due to this event, this month’s Parent School will be moved to May 17th. At that time, Ms. Susan and I will share this year’s look back at the year and share our plans for the coming year. We hope you will join us.

Many field trips, second DRA assessment and MAP (grades 3-5) will take place in April. More details will follow as those events get closer.

Next Wednesday is a half day; dismissal is at 11. The students will spend this day to work on Earth Day projects.

We realize how hot it is during the last two months of the school year. Please remind your child to bring water bottles to drink frequently and wear either a PE, volleyball or Earth day T-shirt. The Earth Day T-shirts will be on sale soon. These will have two student art works that were chosen last month.

 Stay cool!

Dear ES Community                          April 2, 2013

This week is the school wide Spirit Week. Make sure your child comes in the dress code set by the Spirit Week Committee. Also, there will be a movie night on Wednesday in the Ossi Room (the location has been changed from CAA) from 6-8.

The AASCA Volleyball tournament will start on Thursday at our school. We are the hosting school and many international schools from Central America will be on our campus. Please support our team by joining us on Thursdays to Saturday!

The registration form for the next school year will be sent home today. Please check all the information and edit any information you need to update and send it back to the school as soon as possible.

We are glad to be back! Have a great week!

Dear ES Community,                          March 18, 2013

Today, your child is bringing a shirt order form home. As you know, our school is hosting the AASCA Volleyball tournament from April 11-13th. It is an honor and a privilege to host such a big event. Our elementary students will be allowed to visit some of the tournaments during school hours. In an effort to show our Tiger Spirit to our visitors, the PTO, along with our STUCO, is selling T-shirts for the event. Please purchase one or two and send the form in by this Thursday, March 21st. Your child will be allowed to wear the shirt as an alternate to his/her PE shirt.

The Parent Conference will be held this Wednesday from 7-11. The sign up sheet has been posted outside your child’s room. Contact your child’s teacher to set up the time if you cannot come in to sign up. If the allowed time is not convenient for you, contact the teachers to set up another date. It is important that you meet with the teachers to receive feedback on your child’s progress.  There will be NO SCHOOL for students on this day.

The Tiger Meeting will be held this Friday. The Lower Elementary (K4-2) will be held at 7:15 and the Upper Elementary (3-5) will be held at 8:15. Please come and see what is happening in the classrooms.

We are very proud that our students and staff have been working hard, even in the midst of the temperature rise and the anticipation of the Semana Santa vacation. Please keep encouraging your child to do his/her best until the end of this week.

Wishing you and your family a very safe and joyful Semana Santa!
