If you visit our school, you will find yourself surrounded by a lush, almost tropical environment of trees, plants, and flowers. Make your way to the swimming pool, where you might get a glimpse of the top student swimming in Nicaragua practicing for their next meet. Or stop by the new high school facility and witness the one-to-one program in process there with technology. Our 26-acre campus hosts a mixture of buildings, expansive sports facilities, and many open green spaces. Yet this broad span of buildings is encapsulated with one important belief: students are here to learn how they can learn even more. Welcome to the American Nicaraguan School! We are an institution marked with tradition and history, delivering an exemplary educational program in Managua to students from over 30 countries as well as to many Nicaraguan families. Since the school’s founding in 1944, we have consistently inspired and challenged our students to succeed and excel in their endeavors.
ANS is identified with a strong sense of community. Students, staff, and families are continually intertwined in activities, planning, and commitments. The school is the hub of over 30 active community service organizations, the majority of which are led by our students. Innovative solutions, new ideas, and solving problems and issues are a part of the school’s fabric.
The results of our academic program are evident through the school’s graduates’ continual acceptances into notable universities of their choice. Our faculty is the finest in the region, and many have advanced degrees in their fields. They are characterized by the passion to learn more and to enable all students to succeed.
We invite you to explore our website and to gain a sense of this unique school. We are a school with heart, and you can easily see this feature in our many photos and the values that guide us. The American Nicaraguan School is simply a wonderful school – for its students and for its staff!
