Two qualified nurses serve the routine and emergency needs of the school community. Their duties include the dispensing of medication in accordance with prescriptive instructions, and attending to the myriad of daily ailments reported by students and staff. They possess an excellent connection to the best medical services in Managua.
The Infirmary is not a community clinic. Therefore, we do not hold an array of medications. Nor do we provide a diagnostic and treatment service approaching that available in the community. We do, however, hold the special information on each student and each employee as to any medical conditions, and we respond to emergent medical crises as they arise.
The nurses cover special after-school events, and they periodically offer instruction to student and staff groups on certain health issues.
