The department of the Student Services is dedicated to enhance the opportunities students have to be successful in school, and in life generally. We support the academic program in the elementary and secondary schools and assist students to adapt to new and developing circumstances that challenge their growth as they progress through the grade
We maintain current resources and employ staff with high levels of competency. We are often the key link between students and teachers or others within the school. Therefore, certain values are central to our functioning:
- We function in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- We believe that mutual reliance is essential for productive relationships in the school community.
- We strive for the clearest communication possible in relation to our activity.
- It is our basic criterion to act and advocate in the best interests of the student, while holding to framework within which ANS functions.
Student services staff seeks to find those unique strategies and solutions that will enable all students to be successful. Simultaneously, we attempt to reinforce with students their responsibilities as learners, and communicate in ways that consistent with that goal. The school has a long-standing motto: A student is a Person of Infinite Dignity. We believe that all groups in the school community are persons of Infinite dignity. Student Services is committed to functioning in ways that reflect and reinforce this high-level value.
