The American Nicaraguan School

= All 5th grade Social Studies students have been

busy planning research on, investigating, and illustrating an explorer who contributed to the discovery of the Americas. The students orally presented their explorers to their peers and their research papers are in the Library for you to see. The students have also been learning about the colonial life. The illustrations depicting the daily life of this era have been made into a quilt and are displayed in the Library as well. Enjoy!

= On Friday, November 14, the Elementary Student

Council (STUCO) will visit our sister school, Escuela Los Ladinos, to celebrate Thanksgiving. It is now a tradition in the Elementary School to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with our sister school each year. This event was made possible with your support during Jeans Day fund raising activity of October 31. Thank you!

= Technology  is a wonderful tool if used properly.

Our goal at ANS is to teach your children how to use Technology effectively and productively; however we need your assistance at home. Every week, through our ANS Weekly Bulletin, we will be providing TIPS (Technology and Internet Parenting Skills).

= TIP 1:   When purchasing video games (wii, Nintendo, GameCube) look at the ratings (i.e. E = Everyone, T = Teen, M = Mature). Some games may be inappropriate for younger children.

= You  are always welcome to send your sugges-

tions, comments, or questions to                          technology@ans.edu.ni, and we will be happy to assist you any way we can.

Text Box: Dear ANS Parents and Alumni: Due to unanticipated events in Managua, we are postponing the "Building Tomorrow Today" Campaign scheduled for today until further notice. Thank you for your support.
