August 5, 2008 Dear Parents, Welcome to 5th grade! We are so happy to be your child's teachers. We hope this will be a great year of learning and maturing for all of us By now, you should have received your child's assignment to 5A, 5B, or 5C. This indicates the classroom your child will be in for first period, as well as Language Arts. Ms. Johns (kjohns@ans.edu.ni) will be teaching Science and Language Arts Mrs. Jun (jjun@ans.edu.ni) will be teaching Social Studies and Language Arts Mr. Plemons (dplemons@ans.edu.ni) will be teaching Math and Language Arts. We would like to remind you that we are always willing to talk with you about concerns you may have, but we do ask that you make an appointment with the elementary office. Class time is valuable, and we know that you would not want to interrupt. Tutoring, as always, will be available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 to 2:45 with the fifth grade teachers. If you feel that your child may need additional private tutoring, please see us for recommendations. Remember classes begin at 7:05 sharp. They have a lot of materials to organize before their first class. Any student arriving after that time will be sent to the office and counted as tardy. We suggest that students plan to be in the classroom at 7:00 to prepare for class. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. We are excited to have your child in our classes and anticipate a great year! We look forward to personally meeting you and working with you as partners in your child's education and success.
